Recently I’ve been finding more gourmet GF pasta at the store or should say good tasting  gluten-free pasta.  They are fresher more like a homemade style. This brand I recently discovered is my best tasted to date. Tonight I enjoyed it with a basil walnut pesto. It was yummy I paired it with a great One Hope Pinot noir wine and wow I had a good dinner tonight. I first enjoyed this pasta with a marina sauce.  I found the texture and taste was terrific. No more dried blah corn pasty tasting pasta for me.IMG_4132


Basil walnut pesto recipe:

Blend one bunch of basil, 1/4 cup grated pecorino romano cheese, squeeze of lemon, crushed red pepper, enough olive oil to wet mixture to blend well. Sea salt and a pinch of nutmeg.  Add in walnuts after the pesto is blended by pulsing.  This will leave the nuts with some added texture. Pour over hot cooked pasta and stir. Drizzle pasta with olive oil and some extra walnuts and cheese.

For a lower fodmap version leave out the cheese.
